Betsey Johnson

From Coty award (she was the youngest recipient ever) to CFDA award to Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars award to the Fashion Walk of Fame to the Accessory Council’s Ace award to the National Arts Club Medal of Honor award, Johnson is one of the country’s most decorated—and decorative—designers. She formed her present company in partnership with Chantal Bacon in 1978, the same year they launched their first store in Soho. Today there are more than 65 Betsey Johnson stores worldwide, including London, Vancouver, Toronto and Japan. A breast cancer survivor, Johnson has been honored by the National Breast Cancer Coalition for her continuous fight against the disease. She was also the first designer to chair the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative.

betsey's mannequin
We heart Betsey Johnson! First off, her mannequin is the official color of SIDEWALK CATWALK. And we are totally going to make our own sharpie gladiators. What's more, she decked it out with shout-outs to the Fashion Center BID, the NYPD, Fern Mallis, and more. To top it off, her mannequin has fresh flowers in its belt. It doesn't get much sweeter than that!
