This multi-awarded Brazilian native first created stage costumes for his musician friends, who introduced his work to Elvis Presley, Miles Davis and Mick Jagger. In1979, he designed his first unconstructed bag, the unlined buffalo satchel made from a single skin with only two seams—the satchel Women’s Wear Daily called “the most copied bag in the industry.” Today, in addition to his own collection and those for Home Shopping Network, Falchi designs accessories for “Gossip Girl” and movies (“The Devil Wears Prada”, “Sex and the Çity”, “Wall Stereet 2” and others.) In 2009, he launched his Carlos Falchi for Target collection . His awards include honors and a Lifetime Achievement recognition from The Accessories Council of America. |
