Born in the French Alps, Malandrino honed her design skills in Paris with Dorothee Bis, Louis Feraud and Emanuel Ungaro. In The ‘90s, she was the creative force at the French label Et Vous. Malandrino’s love story with America began when she presented her Flag collection in 2000, followed by her Hallelujah collection in Harlem’s landmark Apollo Theater. She now designs two collections: the contemporary Catherine Malandrino line and her collection line Malandrino. In addition to her flagship store in the Meatpacking District, her 11 boutiques include locations in Paris and Istanbul, plus one in Moscow’s TSUM department store and one in Harrods of London.
