The Fashion District is more vibrant than ever before. With a wealth of top-notch designers based here, not to mention suppliers for every fabric or accessory you can think of, plus off-Broadway theatres, arts organizations, an array of photo-worthy attractions, as well as hotels, restaurants and cafes, and a convenient midtown location, the Fashion District should be the next stop on your agenda whether you’re a local or an out-of-towner.

the fashion center BID

The Fashion Center Business Improvement District (BID) was established in 1993 to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of the Fashion District, and to promote New York City’s apparel industry. Funded by the district’s 575 property owners and over 6,500 businesses, the Fashion Center draws upon the talents of business, civic and government leaders to make the neighborhood clean and safe while strengthening local businesses.

The work of the Fashion Center BID can be seen all over the District. Our team literally hits the pavement seven days a week to make sure the Fashion District is both clean and safe. Through a variety of programs in the areas of sanitation and security services, streetscape improvement, economic development, community outreach, marketing and promotions, as well as fashion industry support, efforts are aimed at promoting the Fashion District as a strategic midtown business location and ensuring New York’s position as the fashion capital of the world.
