After completing her undergraduate studies at Youngstown University, Lepore left her hometown to attend FIT in New York. In 1992, she set up shop in the garment district. Her husband, Robert Savage, runs the business side as president. The brand also offers a new luxe basics line, Oonagh, plus footwear and fragrance. Handbags will be added for fall of 2010, followed by swimwear for 2011. There are 11 Nanette Lepore shops, including boutiques in London and Tokyo. Since 2009, Lepore has helped spearhead initiatives to save the l00-year-old garment center.
