Thom Browne

His awards include Fashion Group International’s 2005 Rising Star prize for menswear, the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up prize, also 2005, and the CFDA’s 2006 Menswear Designer of the Year. Browne started designing custom-made clothes in 2001, then ready-to-wear in 2004. In 2006, he opened a store in the Meatpacking District, now relocated in Tribeca, to accommodate both private appointments for custom clients as well as ready-to-wear. In 2007, Browne began designing capsule collections for men and women called Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers. That same year, he launched a line of men’s jewelry with Harry Winston. Most recently, Browne was named to design Moncler’s new men’s collection, Gamme Bleu, which debuted January 2009 in Milan.
